Secret Origins v1 #1, 1961 - For the first time, DC collects the origins and first appearances of several characters into this giant-sized special. This first issue includes the origins of Adam Strange, Green Lantern (Showcase #22), Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter (Detective Comics #225) and the first Superman-Batman team-up. Equally notable are the first appearances of the Challengers of the Unknown (Showcase #6) by Jack Kirby and the silver age Flash (Showcase #4) by Joe Kubert. Other artists in this silver age comic include Ross Andru, Gil Kane, Mike Sekowsky, Murphy Anderson and Carmine Infantino. Note that there is a 1997 replica edition with the cover price missing.
