House of Secrets #99 - Bernie Wrightson, Nestor Redondo art

House of Secrets #99

House of Secrets v1 #99, 1972 - Through the help of a gypsy, a struggling comic book artist enters the realm of limbo, resulting in newfound inspiration and creativity in his work. Nestor Redondo's drawings are stunning, capturing the nether world through open, amorphous panels. Equally effective is character's timeline of success and failure on page 11, depicted in harshly divided panel segments. Bernie Wrightson also contributes an intro page featuring Abel perusing a graveyard. His brushwork, like many of his bronze age issues, is impeccable (see interior page below). This issue also includes artwork by Vic Catan, Frank Redondo, Jack Katz and Tony Dezuniga. Cover by Michael Kaluta. This is 2 of 10 House of Secrets issues by Redondo and 5 of 11 House of Secrets issues by Wrightson. /// Redondo gallery
