Daredevil v1 #236, 1986 - When a deranged former agent gets loose, Daredevil and the Black Widow must stop him by any means possible. Walt Simonson's cover portrait borders on mediocre, but Barry Smith's interiors more than compensate. Masterful pacing and layouts accompany his gripping illustrations. His action scenes are graceful and almost choreographic (see interior page below). Perhaps the most memorable pages occur toward the story's beginning, where vertical panels increase drama and tension.
