Out of the Shadows #6 - Alex Toth art

Out of the Shadows #6
Out of the Shadows v1 #6, 1952 - A treasure map leads a pair of thugs to an ancient temple, where they inadvertently free Circle, the mythical sorceress. Along with his trademark page layouts, Alex Toth draws an eerily disturbing tale. While typical of his work in many respects, his most innovative page involves an attack of giant rats (page 7). A single scene divides into four panels, lengthening the pacing. Toth uses a typographic sound effect to bind them together. This story was later reprinted in Seduction of the Innocent #5. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jack Katz, Ross Andru and Rocco Mastroserio. This is 2 of 4 Out of the Shadows issues by Toth.
