Thunder Agents v1 #4 tower silver age 1960s comic book cover art by Wally Wood
Wally Wood
T.h.u.n.d.e.r. Agents v1 #4, 1966 - Dinosaurs run amok throughout Manhattan, courtesy of the mad Dr. Sparta. Wally Wood's opening Dynamo tale is dependably drawn, juxtaposing prehistoric creatures against an urban environment. The artist does equally well on his second tale, beginning with the splash of Iron Maiden and a defeated Dynamo (inks over Reed Crandall). Throughout the book, Wood's efforts are aided by Dan Adkins and Ralph Reese. His contribution on "The Great Hypno" appears minimal, offset by his stunning cover design. Artfully composed and rendered, the dynamic scene is easily the issue's high point. The Iron Maiden tale was later reprinted in Thunder Agents #20. Other artists in this silver age comic include Mike Sekowsky. This is 4 of 18 Thunder Agents issues by Wood. /// Wood gallery
