Weird Western Tales #33 - Joe Kubert cover

Joe Kubert
Weird Western Tales v1 #33 presents Jonah Hex, 1976 Joe Kubert was one of DC's most prolific cover artists during the 1970s, so it's surprising that he drew only two for this title (and several years apart at that). No stranger to the western genre, Kubert delivers a mostly mediocre effort, weak in composition and lacking in background details. It doesn't help that the masthead and related text take up much of the available space. On the positive side, this bronze age comic does contain some terrific art by Jose Luis Garcia Lopez. This is 2 of 2 Weird Western issues by Kubert.
