Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge v1 #31, 1960 - Uncle Scrooge has to collect ten million dollars in person from the far away Bank of Bantu. Donald and his nephews accompany him (along with the boys' pet rat collection), while the Beagle Boys plan their theft.
Carl Barks does all the artwork for this issue, which includes three stories and assorted single pages. While the lead feature is comfortably rendered, it's also a more typical Barks plot. "Two Way Luck" chronicles Uncle Scrooge's discovery of the Cave of the Emeralds, and is reminiscent of his earlier adventures into the exotic. "Fishy Warden" is a standard but dependably pleasant Gyro Gearloose tale. A one pager, "The Secret Book" is surprisingly well drawn and perhaps done much earlier than the issue date. "All at Sea" was later reprinted in
Walt Disney Comics Digest #3 and
Uncle Scrooge #137. This is 31 of 70
