Iron Man #53 - Jim Starlin art

Iron Man #53
Iron Man v1 #53, 1972Jim Starlin lends a hand to regular artist George Tuska, pencilling a handful of pages. Their vastly dissimilar styles make it relatively easy to distinguish which pages were drawn by whom. Page 18 appears to be completely by Starlin (see interior page below) whereas on pages 23, 26 and 27 he appears to have drawn only a panel or two. In general, his figures appear stunted and poorly foreshortened. Sadly, Starlin's debut on the series is less than impressive. The covers artists are Gil Kane and Frank Giacoia. This is 1 of 7 Iron Man issues by Starlin. /// Starlin gallery

I don't know how much better an inking job Gil Kane could have wanted. This one by Vince Colletta is pretty darn nice.
