Total War #2 - Wally Wood art

Total War v1 #2 featuring M.A.R.S. Patrol, 1966 - Vastly outnumbered, the MARS team fends off invaders intent on destroying the power plants at Niagara Falls. Two frenetically paced stories fill the entire book with the obligatory firefights, explosions and gunfire. Wally Wood's opening scenes in both tales could have benefited from full page splashes, creating buffers between action sequences. Despite this, the artist meticulously details a handful of panels, including a superb jet fighter scene in the second story (see interior page below). It should be noted that Wood had assistance from one or more artists, most likely Dan Adkins. Following this issue, the series continues on as MARS Patrol Total War. This is number 2 of 2 Total War issues with Wood art and/or covers.
