MARS Patrol Total War #3 - Wally Wood art

M.A.R.S. Patrol Total War v1 #3, 1966 - Continued from Total War, this issue continues the exploits of this fearless military team. Wally Wood's opening splash is the most eye-catching of the series: a montage layout of the main characters in various heroic situations. Although complex, the page is well organized and sets the tone for rest of the book. The remaining pages are less dynamic, but credibly and consistently drawn (with assistance from Dan Adkins and possibly others). Wood seems to demonstrate a convincing knowledge of military hardware. This is number 1 of 1 M.A.R.S. Patrol Total War issues with Wood art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Wood or M.A.R.S Patrol issues. See also this blog's Wally Wood checklist.
