Lovers #30 - Joe Kubert art

Lovers #30
Lovers v1 #30, 1950Joe Kubert adeptly draws a tale of a small town girl turned movie star. Narrated by her best friend, most of the scenes are interactions between the various characters. The artwork is straightforward while maintaining clarity. Kubert shines brightest on the first panel, showing the friend's arrival amidst the glamorous symbols of Hollywood. Other artists in this golden age comic include Bob Powell, Christopher Rule and John Buscema. This is 2 of 2 Lovers issues by Kubert.

I see a Caniff influence, especially in the stuck-up starlet.

Thanks for pointing that out. Milton Caniff seemed to influence almost every comic book artist in those days.
