Mystery Tales v1 #46, 1956 - A sailor stumbles upon the lost city of Atlantis, discovering a new untapped power source. The artwork is lush and sophisticated, using a painterly approach that's most evident in the oceanic settings. Al Williamson nicely contrasts this environment against futuristic, extra-terrestrial architecture. Roy Krenkel, a talented artist in his own right, does a terrific job with the finishing touches. Other artists in this golden age science fiction comic include John Forte, Don Heck, Vince Colletta, Reed Crandall, Sol Bordksy and Robert Q. Sale. Cover by Bill Everett. This is 2 of 4 Mystery Tales issues by Williamson.
