Wild Boy of the Congo v1 #11, 1955 - Matt Baker begins a series of covers for this obscure St. John jungle title. Previous covers were mostly paintings, presumably to give it more of a bookish feel. His illustration shows the exact moment of a tiger's attack as native warriors abandon the main character. Baker's drawing is exemplary in its effort and detail, further enhanced by the primary color palette. Other artists in this golden age comic include Frank Kramer.
