Superman Family v1 #182, 1977 - Formerly the long-running Jimmy Olsen series, Superman Family began to to feature a wider array of supporting characters. Supergirl, Lois Lane, Krypto and others were often included, filling the newly ex
panded eighty pages. Marshall Rogers draws a "World of Krypton" tale, an enthusiastic effort largely dampened by Frank Springer's insensitive inks. Most panels lack clarity and definition. On the positive side, longtime Superman artist Curt Swan never looked better, thanks to the precise inking of Neal Adams. Note how the folds in the clothing reinforce a sense of movement. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Kurt Schaffenberger, Vince Colletta, John Calnan, Joe Giella, Jose Delbo, Bob Layton, Mike Vosburg, Al Milgrom and Bob Smith. This is 1 of 2
