Out of the Night #1 |
Out of the Night v1 #1, 1952 - Under the pseudonym "Harold Williams",
Al Williamson superbly illustrates a tale about a century-old werewolf pelt. The artist's sensitive linework pervades in most of the pages, especially on the title panel. The opening scene has a dream-like quality that's strongly reminiscent of fine art etchings. It's lack of color seems intentional, perhaps separating it from the surrounding panels. This issue also includes artwork by Charles Sultan, Paul Gattuso and Ken Bald. This is 1 of 3
