Adventure Comics v1 #150, 1950 -
Frank Frazetta draws a series of Shining Knight back-up tales beginning with this issue. The hero's good name is besmirched by an ancient document recently unearthed by archeologists. Frazetta's classical drawings are well-suited for the character and his medieval settings. Interestingly, the artist uses personification on the opening panel: a document with arms and legs jousting against the Shining Knight. As humorous as the metaphor is, it doesn't detract from the excellence of the artwork. This story was later reprinted in
Masterworks Series of Great Comic Book Artists #1. This is 1 of 8
