Uncle Scrooge #50 - Carl Barks art & cover

Carl Barks
(Walt Disney's) Uncle Scrooge v1 #50, 1964 - Uncle Scrooge and the gang travel to Bagdad (their spelling), encountering flying rugs, treasures and the sorceress Magica De Spell. Carl Barks revels in the story's Middle Eastern setting, delineating the culture's architecture and design motifs. His opening splash, with its intricate rug patterns, establishes the tale's exotic mood. These same details are curiously lacking on his cover. This is number 50 of 70 Uncle Scrooge issues with Barks art and/or covers (not including reprints).
