Thor v1 #172, 1970 - After kidnapping Jane Foster, a billionaire named Kronin Krask blackmails her lover to perform surgery: a mind transplant between Krask and the god of thunder. Jack Kirby and inker Bill Everett again join forces to deliver a stunning issue. On page 12, Thor's approach of the fortified castle (see interior page below) is told in four equal quadrants of exceptional design. Krask for the first time on page 8, his massive figure filling up the entire splash page. Kirby's cover employs a symmetrical placement of combatants while inserting a key character in the circle below. This is 48 of 54 Thor issues by Kirby.
