Thor v1 #171, 1970 - While Dr. Don Blake performs surgery to save a man's life, the Wrecker decimates the city in search of Thor. While the plot is typical in its action and fury, few can match
Jack Kirby's artistry. The tense, muscular cover and the explosive splash page are but two of the highlights. On page 8, the Wrecker's mystical crowbar careens through a truck, taking its engine with it. Kirby's pencils are even better due to Bill Everett's splendid inking. His sensitive brushwork adds an uncommon grace, not only in this issue, but many others. This is 47 of 54
Thor issues by
Kirby.
