Frank Frazetta |
9. Weird Science-Fantasy v1 #29, 1955 - Man regresses into cavemen in Al Williamson's cautionary tale, while aliens take away a family member in Wally Wood's short story. Though different in style, both are exquisitely drawn with passion and skill. Incredibly, these fine efforts are eclipsed by Frank Frazetta's brutal cover. Originally done for Famous Funnies, the image was rejected due to its extreme violence. Perfectly composed and boldly drawn, this is Frazetta's most well-known work in comics. These stories were later reprinted in Weird Science-Fantasy v3 #7. Other artists in this golden age comic include Joe Orlando and Reed Crandall. This is 1 of 1 Weird Science-Fantasy issues by Frazetta, 5 of 5 Weird Science-Fantasy issues by Williamson and 7 of 7 Weird Science-Fantasy issues by Wood. /// Top 10 Frazetta comics / Frazetta gallery
