Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge v1 #36, 1962 - Uncle Scrooge believes the first dime he ever earned, nicknamed "Old Number One", is a lucky charm. Unfortunately, the evil sorceress
Magica De Spell (making her first appearance) believes it too.
Carl Barks' pacing is somewhat more erratic than usual, but largely offset by his splendid drawings. His second story, about Uncle Scrooge and a destructive goat, is slightly better than the main feature. His third effort is a four page Gyro Gearloose tale that just meets expectations. This issue marks Magica De Spell's first appearance. "The Midas Touch" was later reprinted in
Walt Disney Showcase #30 and
Uncle Scrooge #93, "Money Bag Goat" in
Uncle Scrooge #73. This is 36 of 70
