House of Mystery #217 - Bernie Wrightson cover, Nestor Redondo art

Bernie Wrightson
House of Mystery v1 #217, 1973 - Receiving a long lost letter from her great grandfather, a young woman locates the western town he once founded. Nestor Redondo delivers a pleasing effort on this ghost story. Drawn without much fanfare, the highlight is the ghostly images appearing at the woman's arrival (page 1). Bernie Wrightson's eerie but somewhat humorous cover surpasses everything else in the issue. Other artists in this issue include Alfredo Alcala. This is number 7 of 16 House of Mystery issues with Redondo art and/or covers and number 21 of 27 House of Mystery issues with Wrightson art and/or covers (not including reprints). This issue is also included in this Wrightson gallery. Find >this issue or more >Redondo, >Wrightson or >House of Mystery issues on ebay.
