House of Mystery #217 - Bernie Wrightson cover, Nestor Redondo art

Bernie Wrightson
House of Mystery v1 #217, 1973 - Receiving a long lost letter from her great grandfather, a young woman locates the western town he once founded. Nestor Redondo delivers a pleasing effort on this ghost story. Drawn without much fanfare, the highlight is the ghostly images appearing at the woman's arrival (page 1). Bernie Wrightson's eerie but somewhat humorous cover surpasses everything else in the issue. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Alfredo Alcala. This is 7 of 16 House of Mystery issues by Redondo and 21 of 28 House of Mystery issues by Wrightson. /// Wrightson gallery
