More expressive than realistic, his artwork has a visceral quality that's hard to ignore. The influence of Ploog's mentor, Will Eisner, is most keenly felt on the gorgeous opening splash. The sorceress Topaz debuts, appearing in an exotic framed arch on the opening splash.
