X-men v1 #109, 1977 - Upon their return to Earth, the X-men face a Canadian super-hero intent on capturing Wolverine. His first appearance, Weapon Alpha would later be known as Vindicator, then Guardian, leader of the super-team Alpha Flight. With this second issue, John Byrne begins to make the characters his own, especially favoring Wolverine. Byrne's storytelling is clear, concise and widely appealing. This Chris Claremont story was later reprinted in Alpha Flight #17. This issue also includes cover artwork by Dave Cockrum and Terry Austin. - - - - - - - - - -
