Showcase v1 #86 featuring Firehair, 1969 - An old prospector's search for gold brings him into indian territory, putting himself and Firehair in grave danger. Joe Kubert opens the tale with large, imposing typography on the splash page. A two-page spread follows, showing a broad panoramic view of an encircling war party. Exceptionally designed, the scene suggests not only the prospector's dilemma, but the spaciousness of the frontier. By comparison, Kubert's cover looks more typically crowded. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Ric Estrada. This is 14 of 19 Showcase issues by Kubert.
