Omega Men v1 #16, 1984 - First introduced in
Green Lantern #141, the Omega Men quickly earned their own series with Keith Giffen as the initial artist.
Alex Nino illustrates this issue, the first of three (including the annual). No stranger to depicting alien landscapes and strange characters, his style seems perfectly suited for this title. The story art is more graphically designed than usual and Nino's cover shows his mastery of composition. Kinetic and colorful, the various elements command attention without competing against one another. This near-symmetrical layout also integrates well with the masthead. Other artists in this issue include Romeo Tanghal (pin-up page). This is 1 of 2
