Star Wars v1 #61, 1982 - Luke Skywalker and his crew infiltrate an imperial armada with a small squadron of tie fighters. After supplying the story pencils for several issues, Walt Simonson only does layouts for the inker to finish. His terrific cover art continues, benefitting the series as a whole. Note the rough cross-hatching on the outer hull of the spaceship, which is one of the artist's hallmarks. This is 9 of 10 Star Wars issues by Simonson.
