Creepy #70 - Bernie Wrightson art

Creepy magazine v1 #70, 1975 - Serving as an intro, Bernie Wrightson's inside front cover features another portrait of the host Uncle Creepy. Unlike other similar works, the artist uses an ink-and-wash technique to soften the image. This is a departure from his usually graphic style, but still retains his high standards (note the intricate detail on the skeleton below). The special issue celebrates the stories of Edgar Allen Poe. Other artists in this issue include Richard Corben, Luis Bermejo, Joe Ortiz and others. This is number 8 of 19 Creepy issues with Wrightson art and/or covers (not including reprints). See today's posts or more Wrightson or Creepy issues.
