Western Roundup v1 #23, 1958 - An old prospector tries to secure a loan, just as a gang of thieves hold up the bank. Both he and his friend Dale Evans track them down to an abandoned mining town. Russ Manning's last issue on the series reveals a crisp, confident line throughout the story. His layouts are especially good, highlighted by the wide panoramic panels that occur on nearly every page. Other artists in this issue include Dan Spiegle, Nicholas Firfires, August Lenox, Sparky Moore and Nat Edson.
