Detective Comics #437 |
Detective Comics v1 #437, 1973 - Interpol agent Christine St. Clair flies into Nepal in search of a mysterious crimefighting figure. Starting with this issue, this
Manhunter back-up series would catapult artist
Walt Simonson into the industry spotlight. His drawings are as eclectic as they are distinctive, enhanced by his excellent pacing and layouts. The hero's entry into a forbidden monastery (see interior page below) is drawn with great precision and clarity. Paul Kirk Manhunter makes his first appearance since the golden age and in a new costume to boot. Written by Archie Goodwin, this story was later reprinted in
Manhunter #1,
Manhunter Special Edition #1 and
Dynamic Classics #1. Cover by Jim Aparo. This is 1 of 12
Detective Comics issues by
Simonson. ///
