Weird War Tales v1 #3, 1971 -
Joe Kubert provides the framing pages around a collection of reprinted war stories. His ghostly, seaweed-encrusted figure on the cover serves as narrator inside. Kubert's splendid drawings outshine everything else in the issue. Some of his best panels occur on the first few pages. Especially noteworthy is his use of silent panels, adding solemnity to the initial scenes (see interior page below). Other artists in this bronze age comic include Russ Heath. This is 3 of 52
