Marshall Rogers |
Detective Comics v1 #474 featuring Batman, 1977 - First introduced during the golden age,
Deadshot returns with a new costume and weapons.
Marshall Rogers' eye-catching cover repeats itself on an inside panel, though not quite as effective when reduced. The opening splash nicely frames the dynamic duo within the darkened confines of the batcave. Other architectural details abound this issue, including a stunning rendition of a metropolitan street (page 8). Most entertaining is Batman and Deadshot's battle in a convention center, atop a gigantic electric typewriter. Conveniently, the letters "DC" are typed as their fight ensues atop a keyboard. This story was later reprinted in
Shadow of the Batman #3 and
Batman Strange Apparitions trade paperback. This is 7 of 13
