Marvel Premiere #47 / Ant-Man - John Byrne art

Marvel Premiere v1 #47 featuring Ant Man, 1979 - Driven to desperation, a Stark Industries employee named Scott Lang dons the original Ant Man's costume to save his young daughter's life. John Byrne handles the pencils adeptly, constructing them within highly kinetic layouts (see interior page below). Bob Layton comes through as one of Byrne's most compatible inkers, adding panache as well as definition. The story ends with a powerful two page spread, revealing the story's villain for the first time. This is number 2 of 3 Marvel Premiere issues with Byrne art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Byrne or Marvel Premiere issues. See also this blog's Byrne checklist.
