Robin Hood Tales #5 - Matt Baker art, mis-attributed Baker cover

Robin Hood Tales #5
Robin Hood Tales v1 #5, 1956 - Matt Baker nears the end of his run on this adventure series, faithfully providing the back-up tales. The cover has been credited to him in comic book guides, but I believe Chuck Cudiera not only provided the inks but the pencils as well. Baker's short story inside is partially marred by hasty transitions from one scene to the next, probably as a consequence of too much to tell in too few pages. His art nonetheless captures the medieval spirit with skill and grace. Note how the arch in the opening panel nicely frames the story's central character. Other artists in this golden age comic include Sam Citron. This is 4 of 5 Robin Hood Tales issues by Baker.
