Gunsmoke v2 #10 - Al Williamson art

Gunsmoke v2 #10, 1958 - The decimation of the American buffalo is covered in this issue's back-up story, one of several in the series by Al Williamson. Reed Crandall provides the inks, his one and only contribution to Gunsmoke. The artwork takes a slightly simpler turn, with noticably less detail on certain panels. The last one in particular, depicting the rise of the longhorn steer, seems fairly lackluster. While competent, it's Al Williamson's least impressive effort of the series. This is number 3 of 5 Gunsmoke issues with Williamson art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Williamson or Gunsmoke issues. See also this blog's Williamson checklist.
