Gunsmoke v2 #10 - Al Williamson art

Gunsmoke v2 #10
Gunsmoke v2 #10, 1958 - The decimation of the American buffalo is covered in this issue's back-up story, one of several in the series by Al Williamson. Reed Crandall provides the inks, his one and only contribution to Gunsmoke. The artwork takes a slightly simpler turn, with noticeably less detail on certain panels. The last one in particular, depicting the rise of the longhorn steer, seems fairly lackluster. While competent, it's Al Williamson's least impressive effort on this golden age series. This is 3 of 5 Gunsmoke issues by Williamson.
