Weird War Tales #13 - non-attributed Nestor Redondo, Alex Nino art

Weird War Tales #13
Weird War Tales v1 #13, 1973 - The Nazis occupy a small Eastern European village, only to fall victim to vampires. Nestor Redondo's artwork is seductive, even as he depicts the soldiers' brutality. His inking skills are extraordinary, even in the smallest panels. Alex Nino's tale tells of a Japanese baron intent on conquering the country. The emphasis of design over drawing is evident. The layout to his opening splash is stunning, centered around a looming red gate (torii). Purposely or not, his graphic approach also resembles Japanese woodblock prints. This is one of Nino's best bronze age efforts. This is 3 of 13 Weird War Tales issues by Nino and 1 of 2 Weird War Tales issues by Redondo. /// original pageNino gallery
