Western Roundup #19 - Russ Manning art, mis-attributed Alex Toth art

Western Roundup v1 #19, 1957 - This one hundred page giant contains a herd of stories, but only one by Russ Manning. A group of women find themselves up against a gang of robbers, who ultimately find more than they bargained for. This Dale Evans tale is all-too-brief but confidently drawn. The demonstration of her roping skills on page five is especially good. Manning's art is attractive and maintains the clarity of good storytelling. "Third Time Out" has been credited to Alex Toth in some comic guides, but it's more likely drawn by George Tuska. Toth's work does appear in 2 other issues of Western Roundup. This is number 6 of 10 Western Roundup issues with Manning art and/or covers.
