Wyatt Earp v2 #13 - Alex Toth art, Russ Manning art

Wyatt Earp v2 #13, 1961 - Alex Toth does a credible job with this short story of a man hired to rustle some nearby cattle. His details start to wane toward the final pages, but the first page of a typical western saloon is expertly drawn. The opening panel is especially good, including just the right amount of information to establish the setting and the tone. He keeps the identity of the man in shadow, suggesting perhaps his openness to criminal activity, before revealing his face on the second page. Russ Manning draws a small, but efficient illustration for one of the text stories, and Dan Spiegle does the main stories. The interior page shown above is by Toth. This is 2 of 2 Wyatt Earp issues with Toth art and/or covers and number 13 of 13 Wyatt Earp issues with Manning art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Toth, Manning or Wyatt Earp issues.
