Sinister House of Secret Love v1 #2, 1972 - Sometimes attributed to Jeff Jones, this gothic romance cover is minimal and consistent with his style (note the woman's hair). Overstreet says yes but GCD says otherwise, based on some compelling evidence. On the plus side, this bronze age comic contains thirty-nine pages of what could be Tony DeZuniga's finest work.

After decades of this mistake being compounded - and even listed in the Overstreet Price Guide, which makes it 'official' for so many - this is NOT by Jones, but by Jerome Podwill, whose signature is actually on the work, but virtually impossible to see in the colored murk of the finished printed cover, though it is visible on b&w production films that are circulating in collectors' hands, and auction sites.
Jones had been commissioned to do a cover for this title, but it was never used - it finally appears in AOJJ as a 1/4 page on page 98, bottom right.
