Spectacular Spider-man v2 #48 - Frank Miller cover

Frank Miller
Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-man v2 #48, 1980 - On Frank Miller's cover, Spider-man lies still while a presumed gunman looks on in disbelief. The entrance wound on the hero's chest is exaggerated for greater visibility but seems distracting. In general, the cover's "crime novel" feel works fine within a carefully constructed layout. Other artists in this issue include Marie Severin and Bruce Patterson. This is number 4 of 12 Spectacular Spider-man issues with Miller art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Miller or Spectacular Spider-man issues. See also this blog's Miller checklist.
