Tor v2 #1, 1975 - Part of a wave of adventure titles in 1975, DC revives Joe Kubert's caveman from the golden age. After a brief intro, the story begins with a stunning two-page spread of Tor bludgeoning his dinosaur prey. This in turn segues into a boyhood memory: his challenging transition into manhood. Kubert brings a more seasoned and contemporary approach, without losing the character's appeal. Among the many exquisite drawings, a prehistoric crocodile plunges to the depths with his attacker still attached (see interior page below). This is number 1 of 6 Tor v2 issues with Kubert art and/or covers (not including reprints). See today's posts or more Kubert or Tor issues. New format tweaks continue, hopefully improving the site. All posts now have large scans of both covers and interior pages. All scans are now captioned, credited to the featured artist on this blog. Any feedback is appreciated.
