Tor v2 #1 - Joe Kubert art & cover

Tor v2 #1 dc bronze age comic book cover art by Joe Kubert
Joe Kubert
Tor v2 #1, 1975 - Part of a wave of adventure titles in 1975, DC revives Joe Kubert's caveman from the golden age. After a brief intro, the story begins with a stunning two-page spread of Tor bludgeoning his dinosaur prey. This in turn segues into a boyhood memory: his challenging transition into manhood. Kubert brings a more seasoned and contemporary approach, without losing the character's appeal. Among the many exquisite drawings, a prehistoric crocodile plunges to the depths with his attacker still attached (see interior page below). This is number 1 of 6 Tor v2 issues with Kubert art and/or covers (not including reprints). See today's posts or more Kubert or Tor issues. See also this blog's Joe Kubert checklist.
