Beware the Creeper v1 #4, 1968 - The mysterious Proteus returns, using his disguise talents to thwart the Creeper.
Steve Ditko's metaphorical cover is not as strong as previous efforts, but his story art is exceptional. Within the first few pages, panels begin to skew into varying four-sided shapes. While unusual, the effect does seem to heighten the tension and excitement of each scene. Drawings are carefully constructed to fit within the changing frames with no loss of quality or effort. My favorite panel depicts Jack Ryder (the Creeper's alter ego) reeling unexpectedly from an explosion on page 7. This is 4 of 6
