Batman: The Cult #3 - Bernie Wrightson art & cover

Bernie Wrightson
Batman: The Cult v1 #3, 1988 - Batman regains his senses afer being brainwashed by Deacon Blackfire. Unfortunately, Gotham City has already fallen to his underground minions. Bernie Wrightson continues to deliver some of his most gruesome scenes to date. Page 17's scene of hanging corpses is especially disturbing, reminiscent of EC comics. Still, there's no lack of artistry, especially on Wrightson's bloodied but triumphant portrait of the Batman (page 31). This is number 3 of 4 Batman The Cult issues with Wrightson art and/or covers.
