The Weird v1 #2, 1987 - A strange being takes over the body of a recently deceased man, preparing himself for an upcoming task. Both the demonstration of the Weird's unusual powers (pages 5-11) and his subsequent battle with Superman (pages 22-33) are exceptionally drawn by Bernie Wrightson. Panels are meticulously detailed and layouts are carefully paced. Dan Green's inks add polish and clarity while being fully supportive of the original pencils. Wrightson also bookends this lengthy story with two terrific splash pages. This is number 2 of 4 The Weird issues with Wrightson art and/or covers.
