1984 #10 |
1984 (magazine) v1 #10, 1979 - Set in the future, a man needs his popcorn machine repaired, only to find a shop that can offer any product that one can dream of.
Alex Nino's artwork is unabashedly humorous in nature, but with a disturbing edge as well. Most impressive is his experimental layouts, using circular panels and segments to contrast against the magazine's rectangular format. Despite the visual complexity of the pages, Nino's pacing and sequencing are crystal clear. Other artists in this bronze age science fiction magazine include Jose Ortiz. This is 10 of 10
