In this exemplary early work by Walt Simonson, each panel is lovingly detailed. Textures abound in the background foliage, wooden vehicles, and the medieval characters that populate this story. The intricacy of the artwork is striking and complex, contributing to the tale's imaginative tone. Other artists in this bronze age horror comic include John Celardo, Jack Abel and Frank Bolle.
