Marshall Rogers |
8. Mister Miracle v1 #22, 1977 - Scott Free descends into the bowels of Apokolips, provoking a final confrontation with Darkseid. Marshall Rogers' last story for the series is also his finest. Vince Colletta seems to have inked page 6, but the majority of the book is finished by a pair of compatible inkers and perhaps Rogers himself. The layouts are in constant motion, propelling the reader forward in anticipation. The artwork culminates in two spectacular splash pages: Mister Miracle's escape on page 12 and an intense portrayal of Darkseid on page 15. These pages, along with the outstanding cover design, showcase Rogers at his best. This is 4 of 6 Mister Miracle issues by Rogers. /// Top 10 Rogers comics / Rogers gallery
