Marvel Chillers #6 |
Marvel Chillers v1 #6 featuring Tigra the Were-woman, 1976 - Red Wolf, the Native American hero, guest stars in this short-lived series.
John Byrne does a largely credible job in one of his earliest works for Marvel. His opening splash is a terrific portrait of Tigra in chains, followed by a two-page spread. The scene's wide panorama and tilted perspective are boldly confident. Frank Springer's inks, tighter than usual, add much needed definition. Interestingly, there's a strong resemblance to Jim Aparo's style in some panels. Byrne uses another splash for the last page, enticing readers into the next issue. Other artists in this bronze age comic include cover illustrator Rich Buckler. This is 2 of 2
