Adventures of Rex the Wonder Dog #3 |
Adventures of Rex the Wonder Dog v1 #3, 1952 - After the recent deaths at a traveling circus, the owners call on Rex and his keeper to investigate.
Alex Toth does a marginally better job than his previous issues, starting with a metaphor for the opening splash. The first few pages are more heavily inked, resulting in more graphically compelling scenes (see interior page below). Despite the efforts of a different inker (Frank Giacoia), Toth's drawings generally lack excitement. This story was later reprinted in
Detective Comics #416. Other artists in this golden age comic include Gil Kane, Sy Barry, Carmine Infantino and Joe Giella. Cover by Kane and Barry. This is 3 of 3
