Adventures of Rex the Wonder Dog #3 - Alex Toth art

Adventures of Rex the Wonder Dog v1 #3 dc 1950s golden age comic book cover art by Alex Toth
Adventures of Rex the Wonder Dog v1 #3, 1952 - After the recent deaths at a traveling circus, the owners call on Rex and his keeper to investigate. Alex Toth does a marginally better job than his previous issues, starting with a metaphor for the opening splash. The first few pages are more heavily inked, resulting in more graphically compelling scenes (see interior page below). Despite the efforts of a different inker (Frank Giacoia), Toth's drawings generally lack excitement. Other artists in this issue include Gil Kane (cover). This is number 3 of 3 Adventures of Rex the Wonder Dog issues with Toth art and/or covers.
