Four Color Comics v2 #1066
77 Sunset Strip v1 / Four Color v2 #1066, 1960 - One of many TV shows adapted by Dell, this series featured a private detective agency set in Los Angeles. Alex Toth does his first of several issues on this series, doing his best to capture the resemblances of the actors. All three stories are adequately laid out and paced, but the first is more attentively drawn. Details are greater and the draftsmanship more confident. The scenes around a majestic California castle (pages 8,12,13) are particularly good. Photos of Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., Roger Smith and Edd "Kookie" Byrnes appear on the front, back and inside covers. This is 1 of 3 77 Sunset Strip issues by Toth. /// key 1st issue
